UAE eases visa regulations for visitors

The UAE announced a relaxation in existing legislation for those visiting the country.

New entry permits will now be issued when existing permits expire without the need for individuals to leave the country.

Two 30-day extensions could be granted to visitors regardless of the main duration of the original visa.

A fee of Dh600 (+-R2 400) would apply to each extension.

Previously, travellers had to leave the UAE after the expiry of their three-month visit visa or one-month tourist visa and then apply for a new visa in their country of origin in order to return.
