BA reveals New Lounge at Rome Fiumicino Airport
British Airways has opened its new lounge at Terminal 3 of Rome Fiumicino airport, showcasing a new design concept for the airline.
Customers will have access to power and USB points throughout the lounge, as well as wireless printing.
Facilities include a feature bar, which will be hosted by a mixologist during peak times. Customers will be able to help themselves to beverages during quieter times. The windows feature smart electronic blinds that are programmed to react to heat and light, keeping the environment comfortable throughout the day.
Sarah Klatt-Walsh, British Airways’ head of product, said: “The lounges need to cater to the varying needs of our customers. The same traveller may be flying with us one day for business and need the space and technology to work and be travelling the next week on holiday when they will want to relax with a drink and some food ahead of their flight.”
The next lounge to be unveiled will be at New York’s JFK Terminal 7, followed by Aberdeen later this year. Further investments are planned for Geneva, San Francisco, Johannesburg and Chicago.
BA flies to Rome from London Gatwick and Heathrow. Passengers travelling in Club Europe and British Airways Silver and Gold Executive Club cardholders (and Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald equivalents) are eligible to use the lounge.
