Visa delays Explained

Due to the ongoing peak travel season, VFS Global has warned customers that it has been seeing high volumes of visa applications across most regions around the globe, including South Africa.

Due to a surge in applications, some applicants may have experienced a delayed response on the appointment booking modules, VFS Global says.

For those facing an issue with booking an appointment at VFS Global advises applicants to contact call centre numbers listed on the country-specific website (via www.vfsglobal.com) for assistance. Applicants can also write to customercare@vfsglobal.com or check with a nearby Visa Application Centre on alternatives.

Australia Visa: The processing time for S/C 600 visitor applications has reduced and it is currently taking between 30 to 35 days to process applications. This is an improvement from the 45- day delay which was previously communicated.

Customers with any travel to Eastern Europe confirmed as part of an itinerary inclusive of stops in the  Schengen Area are of late being asked by some Schengen member states' embassies to visit the relevant Eastern European countries' embassies first before applying for the Schengen visa especially if the longest stay overall is in Eastern Europe. In light of this, please ensure that you have sufficient time to submit visa applications.
