Airline Information

In response to the sudden drop in travel demand resulting from the spread of the coronavirus and subsequent travel bans, many airlines have announced cuts to their international flights. While most are phasing out routes over the coming days, many are making frequent schedule updates.

Below you can find key information on major airline updates and route modifications. The information is correct to the best of FCM's knowledge at the time of publication and is being reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis by FCM, given the rapidly evolving nature of the international response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Air Canada
Air Canada is currently operating repatriation flights and is continuing to adapt their schedule and capacity in response to COVID-19. They have postponed launches or extended the temporary suspension of several routes. Get a full list of affected routes.

American Airlines
American Airlines will suspend 60% of its capacity in April and is planning to suspend up to 80% of its capacity in May, both in comparison to 2019. These changes are due to significantly decreased customer demand and government travel restrictions related to coronavirus. View ongoing updates from American.

Delta
Delta has made a number of changes to its Latin American, Caribbean, domestic and trans-Atlantic network following the announcements of more government travel restrictions in these regions. See a full list of all current schedule changes.

JetBlue
JetBlue is cutting their flights by at least 40 percent in April and May.

Porter
Temporarily suspending operations at the end of the day on Friday, March 20. Flights are scheduled to restart on June 1. More details

Qantas
To be phased in from the end of March 2020 onwards:

• Total Group International capacity will be cut by around 90 percent until at least the end of May 2020.
• Total Group Domestic capacity will be cut by around 60 percent until at least the end of May 2020. More details

United Airlines will continue to fly its regular schedule from Europe to the United States through March 20, after which changes will be made. More details

Sunwing
Sunwing has temporarily suspended all southbound flights. They will now focus on repatriating customers who are currently in destination. More details

WestJet
Starting March 22, WestJet suspended scheduled commercial operations for all international and U.S. (transborder) flights for 30 days. After that they will be operating rescue and repatriation flights with their partners. More details
