CASE STUDY
Driving savings through consolidation and data visibility
Key Highlights
Tractor Supply Company
Tractor Supply Company is the largest lifestyle retailer in the United States, with over 40,000 staff in 1,904 stores across 49 states and a strong ecommerce platform.
The challenge
Prior to partnering with FCM, Tractor Supply Company’s travel program was unmanaged, with different business areas making separate arrangements, leaning the optimal value of a consolidated program was not realized.
Tractor Supply Company wanted to optimize value from their travel spend and, following a thorough RFP process, FCM was appointed to consolidate and improve the travel program.
Program visibility through data
FCM delivered on their specific travel goals while also providing visibility into data generated from the new program.
Tractor Supply Company now had a holistic view of travel spend which highlighted opportunities to increase savings by re-negotiating vendor contractors and procure new contracts whilst understanding the impact of travel behavior on costs.
Unused ticket management
Engaging with FCM resulted in 18% travel savings, a 7 to 1 Return on Investment and a saving of $106k in wasted tickets.
Whereas the un-managed program offered no visibility of unused tickets, the FCM tracking solution unused tickets to be effectively managed, contributing over $55k in used tickets in one year alone.
As COVID-19 hit, this process helped to manage ever-changing airline policies, ensuring a further $51k of tickets were saved from potential wastage.
“Through our partnership with FCM, we have been able to grow and more efficiently manage our travel program. Additionally, the timely response and guidance we’ve received from our account management team has been great - they are always just a phone call or email away!”
