From VTLs to VTF, Singapore finally fully reopens its borders!
Singapore reopens to international travellers with no quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers
24 MARCH, 2022
Starting from April 1, Singapore will reopen its borders to all fully vaccinated travellers, removing all existing vaccinated travel lanes (VTL) and unilateral opening arrangements to transition into a simplified Vaccinated Travel Framework (VTF).
Rules under the framework include:
- All fully vaccinated travellers, as well as children aged 12 and below, will be able to enter Singapore with just a pre-departure COVID-19 test.
- Travellers will continue to be subjected to a pre-departure test within two days before departure for Singapore, however they will not be required to serve a stay-home notice or undergo an unsupervised antigen rapid test (ART) after arriving in Singapore. This means no quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers!
- Travellers no longer need to apply for entry approvals or take designated VTL flights to enter Singapore quarantine-free. The SG Arrival card will also be simplified.
- There will be no more quotas on the number of daily arrivals.
Further to this, wearing of masks in outdoor spaces is now optional while it remains mandatory for indoor setting.
This is a major milestone in Singapore’s Covid-19 journey and a decisive step for Singapore. It sends an important signal to the world that Singapore has fully re-opened its borders to re-connect with the world.
