The challenge
The appointment of a new travel manager created the opportunity for Valiant to place even greater emphasis on business goals for travel including cost savings, timely services, and traveler satisfaction.
The value of partnerships in times of change
In times of change to managing travel, the value of a strong TMC partnership to identify improvements to the existing program whilst maintaining program objectives comes to the fore.
FCM worked with the new travel manager to review every aspect of the travel program. Building upon a baseline for the current program against Valiant’s business goals, the review included optimizing the use of FCM technology, reporting tool training sessions, joint meetings with airline, hotel and car suppliers and a review of virtual payment providers.
Results
Improved processes enabled the Valiant TMS travel program to deliver impressive results. In 2019 the program achieved $400K in total travel program savings, 14% savings on hotel program and 11% savings on car program. $12 in savings for every $1 on transaction fees, providing an ROI of 12:1.
Valiant’s travel manager also confirmed it is essential to build a strong relationship with your TMC in order to push boundaries and drive program improvements.
