IDEX 4.0 Prioritising wellness and mental health: A different kind of Ideas Exchange
With the significance of prioritising well-being at front of mind and understanding the interconnectedness of personal and professional life, FCM Meetings & Events decided to host a different kind of IDEX 4.0 in September 2023, focused on wellness.
Held at the serene InterContinental Hayman Island Resort, this luxurious leadership experience themed ‘Making Waves’, was not just an event, but a chance for guests to experience a different kind of corporate event, one which fostered insightful industry talks, complemented by wellness sessions and transformative workshops.
Well-being in both personal & professional life
Hosted by FCM M&E leaders Simone Seiler and Katie Fraser, and set against a backdrop of natural landscapes and serene beaches, IDEX guests got to connect professionally within a unique atmosphere of holistic success.
The IDEX 4.0 brought together a select group of customers, event professionals, and industry partners for three days of unique activities, in which guests enjoyed a collaboration of exploration, education, conversation and enjoyment.
Corporate events took on a new meaning at IDEX 4.0 when networking and wellness conjoined. The theme of the event, ‘Making Waves’, was cultivated through workshops by big wave surfer Mark Visser and meditation leader Susan Quirke, along with a sunrise hike, and a marine sand flat walk led by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
“Some of the guests had practiced meditation previously while others were new to the practice and keen to learn more. All guests agreed that everyone needs to spend more time ’stopping’ for wellness moments in the day to raise energy, reduce stress and foster a state of calm.”

Vibrate Your Mind
During the three-day event, meditation leader Susan Quirke from Vibrate Your Mind set the tone with a session of self-reflection which allowed the group, amidst the hustle of their professional lives, to find a moment of calm.
Nicole White, Co-Founder of Vibrate Your Mind, said the group responded extremely well to the session with everyone saying they need to carve out more time in their day to focus on going within.
Nicole said that in this post-COVID world where many stressors exist, it’s vitally important that we all integrate wellbeing practices such as meditation, breathwork, yoga, sound healing and music movement into our daily routine.
Corporate events and wellness can be intertwined
In our fast-paced world, where hectic schedules and high-pressure environments are the norm, prioritising wellness and overall well-being often takes a back seat. However, understanding the profound impact of well-being on productivity, satisfaction, and overall success is crucial. FCM M&E’s groundbreaking event, IDEX 4.0, on Hayman Island, placed the spotlight on this essential aspect of professional life.
Wellness is not just about physical health; it encompasses mental, emotional, and social well-being as well. For the FCM M&E team, we believe our transformative event on Hayman Island catalysed change for our guests, sparking conversations and actions that prioritise the well-being of professionals. From mindfulness and stress management sessions to personal development workshops and team-building exercises, guests were immersed in a holistic experience designed to rejuvenate both mind and body.
IDEX 4.0 is the perfect example of blending a corporate event with wellness and mental health, as well as personal development and growth. Our team at FCM M&E can help create an event like this for your organisation!
“Vibrate Your Mind was honoured to be involved with the FCM M&E IDEX event on stunning Hayman Island,” Nicole said. “After a beautiful sunrise hike, IDEX guests were escorted to a private outdoor area to receive a special insight into meditation with Susan Quirke. Susan is a meditation teacher, leader of mass meditation experiences and ambassador for Wanderlust in Australia. Susan talked with the group about the power and benefits of heart-centred meditation and how to integrate the practice into daily life to help reduce stress and reach greater states of calm
